Nice Super Bee 440 six pack

Wayne has got a sweet collection of vintage mopar. He is a regular at the Pavillions and exercises a different one nearly every week. This car is quite impressive in person. This is a 4 Speed, 4.10 Dana, 6 pack built for speed. No PS. No PB. All Go. Original drivetrain + documented with a BS.

Question for the Mopar guru's. Wayne just had the lift-off hood redone and had "organasol" applied. It provides a very ruff, flat patina (with a fine gritty material) surface which can not be cleaned by normal means - he uses a paint brush to clean it . Is this how they were originally delivered? Why this type of finish?

I know I'll sound like Cliff Clavin from Cheers, but here goes: They were produced that way from the factory, not for esthetic reasons but because the fiberglass technology at the time was so poor, they could not paint it a glossy finish without having major seams and imperfections showing through. That is the same reason the AAR Cudas and Challenger T/As had the same blacked out finish on their fiberglass hoods....as a matter of fact there Normy...
