Hi Richard:

hard to tell from that picture. Looks like the drain plug hole is on the bottom in the middle. Pretty sure it should be on the side. Look at the picture Denis posted on this thread to compare.

Drain plug is definitely on the side. The one my friend has from a 67 Z also has the drain plug on the side. Yours looks (and understand I am going from memory here - and when I say memory I mean I looked at it 30 plus years ago) a Corvette drain pan from around 1966.
