Jeff,
I'm not sure exactly what you're baseing your conclusion on that it's a fake tag, but if it's because of the overlapping characters, I can tell you that I'm seen many real tags where that happened at the plant. I'm not disputing your conclusion. I'm only letting you know the over-lapping can be legit. There is evidence from many original tags that they went through two separate stamping operations, and sometimes, the second overlapped the first.

I agree with Jeff, (it is fake)based on several factors. I rather not disclose what I base that conclusion on because the reproducers of the tags with make the corrections. There are many tell tale signs which point to it being fake.

I agree with your position. I do not publically disclose the ways I spot fakes on the tags I study either.

I heard the deal on the gold copo Camaro didnt go thru there was enough evidence pointing to it not being authentic. I have to give Mecum Auction credit for letting this happen. I bet at Barrett you would have owned the car.

Did Hutson's Yenko collection sell complete, or was it separated?
