The 4 piston brakes are better as far as stopping power. They are easier to change the pads on for road racing. If sleeved with Stainless they are not too much of a problem, just go with the single piston ones they are much cheaper, easier to find parts for, and much less headache.
I too personally like the way the 4 piston ones look. They just scream performance. But if your car is not going to be original you might as well go with Baer Brakes or the like.
