Yes, its odd the automatic hurts the value considering they are 4 times as rare as the 4-spd . In terms of collectability, the auto is much rarer. Some people, and perhaps rightly so, depending on how you look at it, consider a 4 spd a necessary ingredient in a Z-28. I think its a carryover of 1st gen thinking on the Z's, but I like 4 spds and auto's. I am trying to not gauge the price so much using ebay, as a lot of those cars haven't been particularly well restored and the completeness is lacking. Some have been (debatably) clones. Also not many have GM documentation as I do. What hurts my car price wise is the non-original to car block.
