Yeah, 4.88 gears were not such a great idea for a basically stock (original) engine. Should have stayed with the 4.10s.

I too was really smart back in high school, thought my daily driver Z/28 would be alot faster by taking out the 373 gears and putting in 538's..Got about 7 gallons to the mile, blew the engine and the muscle on my clutch leg got so big I couldnt put my pants on live and learn
