I have the original spare from my 72 SS Camaro (Polyglas), a friends 71 Firebird (Polyglas) and a 73 Z28 (Wide Oval) I parted out...there is no evidence of a sticker on any of them.

It is obviously beginning to look like maybe this changed from decals to stencils sometime in the mid to late 60's. Interesting and very informative photos however.

Just saw this and thought I would throw in the mix.. another "almost survivor" 66 SS and the spare tire tire has stencil, no sticker.. but it's also obvious the rim was used, so can't much stock in this I guess. Mike |
