...The "1"...should be the "5th" digit of a "13" digit vin

What's the entire VIN# John?
You won't find the Entire VIN# on the engine block,only the CON (Confidential) VIN number,which is an abbreviated VIN#. The full 1968 Chevelle VIN# should look like this example: 138378B123456 |
