I am not sure they are the same cars. This one was raced in Illinois and I think Kim's was in SC

That picture, I think would have been after Fred had sold the car. The reason I say this is several things are different on it. The intake ,valve covers ,master cyl, rad hose and looks like the carbs are Holley carbs. P.S. could get copies of these pictures?

Jacob,

I live about 45 minutes North of you. Do you have any idea where those pictures were taken? The 'Muskrat' in the background, and the surroundings, look very familiar. Just wondering if it was the old White Hall Dragway.

Kim, Where has the car resided the past thirty plus years?

Dennis

Hi Dennis, What I know is the car was sold to a Guy in Meredosia Ill. Which is 6 miles from my father-in-laws. the next owner was Lonnie Dawson ,then Joe Grower ,then Terry Childers Then Bill Porterfield who I bought it from. 4-16-94.

Then it's possible the shots were taken at White Hall. Meredosia is located between Beardstown and White Hall, closer to Brdstn. Lonnie and Jim Dawson were regulars at both strips. In the late '60's/early '70's Jim drove a 427 '69 Camaro sponsored by the "Rod 'n Gun Tavern" in Beardstown. If I remember correctly they ran a used car lot in Meredosia. I think they even had a flatbed hauler like the one in the background. I need to pick some brains locally.

Wel, back in those days there were a few in the area. White Hall, Beardstown, Alton etc.

I grew up in Jerseyville and go to the Jacksonville cruises almost every year.

I am familiar with White Hall, Roodhouse. I recall being in a garage in Roodhouse on the West side of the tracks and he had a front clip of a 69 camaro hanging in it

The first time I saw the 69 ZL-1 was at Beardstown They ran Tommy Johnson Sr, Tommy Had his Green 69 Camaro then. We had a Small Block Tunnel Rammed Rail then. What a piece of Sh&t.
