1996Z15 is correct that the center bar in between the two grilles on an RS car should not be painted body color. The posted car is not a good reference car for originality in that respect.

My first car was a Hugger Orange w/white stripes '70 RS Z-28, M-22 w/4.10's which I bought in 1980 and still have today. That car was FAST for a highschool kid. Still can't believe my dad let me buy it. I don't think he had any idea what it was as he was driving a VW Beetle at the time.

The early 2nd gen. Z's are now finally getting the respect they deserve in the collector market.

COPO, your correct on the centre grille. I verified it with my buds on www.nastyz28.com.

Black natural rubber. Also the center reinforcing bar component of the grille was a poor grade semi-gloss black.

Does anybody remember the "Hurst" package on the 1970 Z/28 camaros? What were the additions made to the car to make it different? I remeber seeing pictures of a yellow car that was on some poster and I think it was used in some of the ads for Classic Industries years ago.

The Hurst Camaro was not a GM option. The fasten seat belts light on the dash is not a 1970 item.
