This is a rough crowd
![]() On the sleeve I'm selling, I'm not even sure of the application other than Camaro. It is for a 'large visor' (such as Camaro) as opposed to a 'small visor' (such as the Corvette). You can tell the difference by the part # as well as the margin space from the fold to where the lettering begins. What I know (very little) pertains to the Vette. Initially, at the beginning of the model year, there was a decal used to warn the owner not to manipulate the shift bowl or damage could result. This decal had two designs, was placed on the jacket forward of the steering wheel (orientation dependant on whether the car had tilt/tele or not) and was used until approximately early to middle summer of 69. The original design visor sleeve (7/68), such as the one pictured above, where the arrow is displayed on one side, is the 'first edition' and was very short lived. For the Vette folks, these are extremely rare. It was used, typically, with the column decal until the second design visor sleeve (10/68) appeared. At that point, it is not uncommon to find both the sleeve and decal, just the decal or just the visor sleeve displayed. NCRS has determined this by observing original cars. At some point during the summer, the decal was dropped and only the visor sleeve appeared. I believe that both of these sleeves as well as the second design column decal is being reproduced. Now, one of you cheapskates needs to purchase my part ![]() Regards, Mark Donnally |

I don't know what originals actually sell for, but it seems it must be less than 400.00, since there are plenty of folks around here who are not "cheapskates" and no one is fighting over it at that price. Asking a price and getting a price are 2 different things all together. ( I should know!

Joe may be absolutely right on $400 being high. Thing is, the Corvette ones are going for that kind of dough and that is what I was going by. If the application of the 'large visor' ones were all the large visor 69s, then it would stand to reason there are a lot more of them still in circulation. It seemed to me better to ask more and maybe not sell it than to ask less than what it is worth.
Cheapskates is probably not the right word either, I should have said tightwads ![]() Regards, Mark

Well come on, someone on here has to have a repop. Give us a side by side comparison. How hard can it be to reprint one of these?

I can probably guess they don't have the same appearance do to the paper they were printed on originally, I am sure they can get the text right on if they try and pictures as well but when they apply the ink it probably comes out noticeable different from a original in texture and look....there again they could correct that to if they wanted but how much effort are they going to put into something selling at $3.50 a shot...hang in there Mark with all the hub bub on this thread half the country is looking for some about now..hit e bay with it.
