My parents both worked in the freight and trucking industry back in that time period. What we all forget is that computers as we know them were not conceived back that far. What we think of computers were actually a simple punch card system, that could be used to keep track of what was shipped or a inventory. Unfortunely those were bulky and took up a lot of room. So they were tossed many years ago.
I can remember the huge room of clacking machines that were at mothers office when I visited back in 1960. I know they were still in use a few years later. I am sure that GM with their big bucks may have had a better way to trace the cars back then but the info is probably on a spool of tape or something like that. Pantera ![]()
