In the photo where the car has the Courtesy sponsership, I recognize the dragstrip tower in the background as the old St. Louis International Raceway. For those that do not know, the dragstrip at Gateway International used to run the opposite direction as it does today. Pretty much where the big oval track is now. Commonly known as the The Swamp back then because of mosquitoes the size of small birds.

Mark, I think it's the same track that Bill bagshaw "the Red Light Bandit" jumped the guardrail and killed two people in 73. I watched it happen very sad deal. Kim

My oh my, that is a very cool picture. Way cool panel border paint scheme. Is that lace, or cobwebs?
If your car turns out to be this car, it might be a hard choice as how to do it. This thing is friggin neat! To bad it's not in color. Oops, never mind. ![]() |
