My guess is the Cobalt was built to compete with the Neon SRT4, which is enjoying some success in that segment of the market...this car isn't even a blip on the Mustang's radar...

Don't forget that the early Impala SS cars had 6 cyl engines so there wasn't a lot of performance in those. But it is a joke with all the Chevy vehicles that they slap the SS on nowadays.

As an upgrade to the Cavalier, most people that I have talked to seem to be impressed. For the money it seems like a nice enough car and 200 hp should make for a fun vehicle. I imagine a supercharged Cobalt is going to be pretty close in price to a base V8 Mustang which seems to be a real winner.

Anyone notice that Vonage Wireless also uses the same theme song that Chevy is using in the Cobalt "Ball" commercials?

YOUHOO, YOUHU, HU, HU, (Repeat) You get the idea.....

The big differance is that the Vonage soundtrack was used after Chevy used it for the Cobalt rollout- and the Vonage commercial states "people do stupid things" during the playing of the soundtrack, and shows people doing very stupid things to illustrate the point.

Now I think of the Chevy Cobalt when I see the Vonage commercial.

Funny but sad that Chevy did not check out who also had rights to the soundtrack prior to using it.

Another Blunder - can it get worse??

Phil

You'd think that Chevy would at least get an AWD car out to compete with the WRX and Evolution vehicles. If you are going to play in the Rice arena, don't show up to a gunfight with a knife!

Was reading on a GM site There is a major problem with the 05 Cobalt and the 05 Mailbu Gm is having problems with the electronic steering There is no tie rods steering box or rack It has steering by wire Talk to two guys that just had GM do a buy back because of the lemon law because of the bad steering I was also told by a guy at a Pontiac dealer that GM is killing the GTO sales were really bad they still have three 04 GTOs
GM is not bring back the camaro or any other rear drive cars any time soon and there is still talk about shutting down Buick or Pontiac This is really sad what the heck is GM doing They used to be king of the mountain
