I'm so happy that you guys have jumped on the valve caps. There is a federal law, though, that states: "Correct Dill 627 caps may not be used on Chevrolets with incorrect fiberglass RWL tires."

Nice move, George.

Now, let's talk about wheel weights. You know they were only installed from the factory in 1/2 oz increments, on the backside of the rim, and there is a specific style. See the last issue of the NCRS Driveline for specifics.

Dave

On the Left is a Dill 626 Cap.This cap has no identifying embossing.
On the Right is a Dill 627 cap. This cap will actually have "DILL 627" embossed into it along the nipple base. This cap is 7/8 long & goes by GM part#9417745.

I went by my local "Just Tires" yesterday and they handed me these.

Rick: On a releated note - do you have info on the valve extension as used on the 70 SS Chevelle? Part numbers are easy enough to find, but what are lengths? My 12k mile car has - probably - the orig extensions on it.

Valve Stem #9422212 is 1&11/32 inches long.
It was used Originally in 1964-75 on ALL Chevrolet cars including the SS Chevelle.
The reproduction tire stores today use a Stem that is 2&1/4 inches long.
Way to long compared to the originals.
