The majority of the time it occurs in the left lane, which would be the slow lane (right lane) for the driver going the wrong way. Drunk drivers usually stay in that lane.

The timing of this post is freaky...just last night, the wife and I went to pick up our big trailer, but right as we were to exit the 4-lane for the secondary road, we came upon an accident...sure enough, a drunk driver traveling the wrong way on the wrong side of the 4-lane...the drunk survived but it killed the man driving the other car and his wife was not expected to make it either...
