Yes. Like I said, my mechanic has a 70 monte with the 402(396) with the 12 bolt rear, buckets, console shifter and the tach in the gauge cluster. In the Monte world this is not considered anything special. Apparently they only had one "special" car, and that was the SS454. His car is very nice and he uses it as a daily driver (but I am sure that sucks a whole lotta gas!).
The monte's just seem to have, I don't know, Character. They are still relativly inexpensive, kind of like the cougar to the mustang. You can still get a 68 cougar GT 390 car for under 8,000.00, but try and get a Mach1 mustang for that price! (Not that I am comparing the Monte's to the Chevelle's, I guess the Monte's were more luxary cars and the Chevelle's more of a muscle car). Rich Rich
