Jerry..By now we all want to buy that car. Alot of people here will pay handsomely for that car. Based on where you said it was there are probably already people scouring the neighborhood trying to find it. I know I will pay more than a brand new Mustang for it.

Stocker did some strange things, and was into the performance cars, but it would seem a little strange for them to sell a motion car new - slightly used maybe, but new? Maybe you can contact the owner and have him fill in some of the blanks, could very well have been taken to State College by a very lucky Penn State student!

No, this one never sat outside. However, there is a green 1970 SS Chevelle sitting about 50 feet off the road with a tree or two growing in or around it on "Conway-Wallrose Road" in western PA. I first saw it in 1978, and at that time it was NICE . I saw it again last summer...it is not so nice now. And yes, everyone I know that has seen it over the last 27 years has tried to buy it although it may not be worth much now.

[/ QUOTE ]Barnfind, The original owner of my yenko chevelle said that he thinks that green 70 ss car is an ls6! The story is the kid died in vietnam and they threw a tarp over the car and it has not moved since! He says people have tried to buy it and they will not sell it,He said the thing is totally rotted.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think this is a different car. I was wrong, it was silver. Here are some pics of its current sad condition.

The street this sits on had in 1979: three 1970 SS Chevelles, a 1970 Z28 and I believe a 2nd Gen B-M Camaro (70-73) in one 3 mile stretch.

Thanks for posting these.
What SS engine did it originally come with?
Can you get closer & confirm?

I can only say what I remember from 1979-80 when it looked like it had just been pulled out of the garage (shiny paint, caps and rings on the wheels) I think it is a 396 car. I never looked in the car to see auto/4sp and when I was in PA last week I only got the 3 pics you see before some one yelled out the door to get the /&?% out of there before they called the POLICE. Having said that, it is on Conway-Wallrose Rd in Economy PA, anyone living near there is welcome to try their luck. I may be back in PA in a few months and give it another try.
