I tried to register on that board, but could not. Good thread though. The main difference that I look for determining if the a/c is the original or not are the bulges in the snorkels where they attach to the base. The originals are very pronounced, the repro's are not.

It is easy to get caught buying snorkel a/c's for other models, mainly ones with quadrajet carbs - I think I have one of them myself

I was real excited when I bought my 74 parts car and it had one of these in the trunk...it turned out to be for a quadrajet.

hey if you guys want to dump one of the quadrajet units let me know...I used to run them in the 80's with a little trimming they work fine for a rat rod...

I checked my air cleaner this morning and it doesn't have the notch. There is some kind of letter code on the bottom, starts with a C. It was on a Q-Jet carb when I got it, don't know if it has the bumps to fit on a Holley. Need to take a closer look.

I HAVE 2 DUAL SNORKEL AIR CLEANERS. I BOUGHT THEM OVER 10 YEARS AGO AS ORIGINAL 70 Z-28 AIR CLEANERS- IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED I WILL EMAIL A PICTURE TO THEM. I WILL BE SELLING ONE.
