![]() I can't get enough of these King Cobra photos! The 'Cobra crowd' snubs this car for two reasons. One, because it was not a true pedigree Shelby backed racer with a history of 'famous drivers' and two, they consider drag racing a simpletons sport not needing any skill. Don't ya just wanna jump in that thing and sidestep the clutch!! Thanks for the pics...(got more? )

Here's a photo of the car back in the day. From a Marty Schorr book on Fords. The caption says the owner was Clem Hoppe of Ridgefield, NJ, and that he had converted the car to drag use from a stock 427. The car held a NASCAR national record of 10.64/131mph with a 427 medium riser, 4-speed, 4:88 gears.
