I have read this article before and it is great. The 427 car is just plain scary!

Real cool article, I bought the mag on ebay A few years ago for the Harrell article and noticed one day the bolt that holds the dipstick to the block was not yet tightened down in the pic of the 427. I'm sure they got it though...

Given the fact that it was a hi-perf shop, originality was not much of a concern back then...question.....how were the Harrell tags installed on the valve covers ? rivets or taped ?

Belair, The ones I have seen were tape. Ray Morrison has some of them. Kim

[/ QUOTE ] Actually the metal tags were made by a trophy shop and came with a strip of double-sided tape on them. We figured out that those would not stay on valve covers very long so a little 3-m trim cement (the yellow stuff) solved that problem, On the out side of the body a couple of pop rivets worked well. The tape ones were not intended to be in either place. |

Dave- Any ideas on what ever happened to any of those cars? [/ QUOTE ] There is a pretty good picture of 5 or 6 of them leaving the shop on a auto transport over on the DH site. There are a few of them still around. |
