-------Camarojoe is correct as my brand new 68 396/350 had about a foot of the tailpipes chromed. It was a chambered exhaust car. I bought it off the dealer floor in early summer of 69 and dont know how long the car was at the dealership..........Bill S

I have a pair of chambered exhaust hangers, that I'm trying to determine if they are NOS. They have no GM stickers or numbers on them, but have a W stamped on them. I was told the W was for Walker, but don't even know if Walker was involved with chambered exhaust.
Any help would be appreciated. |

Walker did sell chambered exhaust. They had chambered for oem replacement and for cars that didn't come with chambered. I still have some Walker chambered pipes for an Olds Starfire that hung from the ceiling of a parts store I worked for in 72. Walker did chrome some of their exhaust. Maybe only the display stuff though.

By the way, the chromed tipped NOS tailpipes I have that I mentioned earlier in the post are not for chambered exhaust. The are for regular dual exhaust and have GM stickers on them that carry part numbers 3965627 GR 3.705 and 3974213 GR 3.705. I replied in response to the comment "GM never chromed any exhaust system during 1969 nor in later years."

Do the tail pipes have part numbers stamped into them? I have a set on my 69 Z that are years old with numbers stamped into the tailpipe. Sam
