This car has been for sale for some time. If it is from Berger, the wheels are 15x7 because it's a double COPO.
IT IS NOT the "only" single order Berger because my car, according to KurtS, is a single order car. My trim tag has been posted on this site, but the ad for this car does not give any info on that or the VIN. It sould be an X11D80, but what is "X33" Trim? If the car auctions for that much, there's a chance that I will refinance my house to do a complete frame off. I like driving it, but damm, that is a lot of $$$. Is there a chance that there was another batch of COPOs ordered that wasn't picked up on? Seems to be some dispute over whether Berger sold 40 or 50. Andy

Andy, I was wondering why someone would say they can add a X-33 (Z/28) Trim to a COPO car as well. For better understanding of the "X" codes heres a link to CRG's site.

Andy,
The gold Copo for sale is a base Copo not a 9737 optioned car; 14" wheels, M22, no radio, X44, March built car. It is the only base Copo ordered by Berger that has surfaced. The original owner Ben Wenzel called Berger in July '69 and wanted the cheapest Copo they had. Berger had 27 Copo Camaros on the lot at that time. This car had been ordered by Dick Ahrons/ Wally Booth for racing purposes but didn't come in in time so they built a 396 car instead. Ben said the car was never competative so he parked it with 50 or so miles on the disconnected odometer. The day 2 pictures were on this site a few years ago, red/orange stripes painted down the sides and top. It would have been nice if the car was kept day 2. Mark |
