My friend claims this is the case. An actual opening in the firewall that I guess would allow air from the windshield, down thru the vents, and into the intake? Was this a pre Z-28 hood type of thing, and was it replaced when the Z-28 hoods came out? Rich |

No such thing as a Pre Z28 hood as your refering to for the 68. What we know as the Cowl Hood for the Z28 was a 69 option and in 67/68 the Z's got flat hoods so yes they went with the cowl air plenum through the firewall. Check out this members ride 67 which has the set up installed.

Around March-April 1968 they changed to Z/28 emblems on the fenders. The cowl induction hood came out in late December of 1968 I believe. Most Z/28's got the flat hood.
