One thing I will say is the 140 speedo in the car LOOKS legit... I have seen repros before that were made from 120 speedometers and the lines between the numbers were incorrect... this one looks the way a real 140 looks, but thats not to say there hasn't been more than one style of repro either... its a weird deal, If the car is indeed real I just can't figure out why you'd hide info that would prove it if you wanted to sell it for top buck. Looks like a cool car, and I wish the big mystery would be solved.

It appears that the trim tag would prove if it was a COPO car with the 140 speedo so it shouldn't really be a mystery now. Has anyone seen the trim tag on this car? If it is a realy Yenko, it's just a matter of which one.

On December 15th of 67, GM issued a zone letter indicating four colors were being dropped from production and four new colors were being added effective January 2nd 1968. The blue that was discontinued was "Fathom Blue" as they had just introduced "Lemans Blue" into the mix. They did not discontinue Grotto Blue and it was still in production until the end of the production year if I stand correct?. Here is a copy of the letter Jeff C. posted showing the color changes in early 68.
![]() This should clear up the Blue issue in the Grotto.

The auction ended last week without the reserve being met.
Why not wait until comes up for sale again to keep this thread going? Also, wasn't the Corvette 160 mph speedo interchangable with the '68 F-Body?

.... We are all hobbyists and enthusiasts and are all here for the same reason. Rick [/ QUOTE ] It's nice to think that, but, it's not true. Those that are true hobbyists and enthusiasts are here, the others - well, they have found a home. Notice how long it's been since this site had a meltdown?

[/ QUOTE ] Not trying to stir the pot, but Marlin that is not an accurate statement. How many people here have flipped a car for a profit? A lot. People on all the musclecar sites have flipped cars for profit. I'm not saying everyone is doing it, but there's a lot of people buying low and selling high and acting like they're in it for the hobby.

Point taken, moving on.
To my knowledge, nobody has a pic of Omar's trim tag.

Regarding this 68 Camaro, would this be the only known Yenko with houndstooth interior if it is a real Yenko? If this is a real Yenko, that's a pretty sweet combo with that interior and RS/SS.
