A very good good example why some appraisals are not worth the paper they are written on.
That apprasier is mis-informned.Chevelles too recieved engines that had the CON VIN stamped by the oil filter instead of the Machined Pad behind the alternator. In fact,having it down there is even more credible,as it is a rougher cast finish,and NEARLY impossible to replicate. Not like the clean grained machined pad behind the Alternator. I would tell your neighbor to find another appraiser..or maybe he already did.
