I looked at the mag last night. I don't think these are the same cars. The Motion '67 was also Butternut yellow, black vinyl roof and a SS/RS. However the Motion car had 4-5 holes drilled in the dash for accessory switches (which this car does not have). The motion car had a black pinstripe along the side which this car does not have.
The car also did not have the Motion decal on the firewall. The Motion drag car had a line loc bolted to the front fenderwell and in the pics of the car on ebay there is no holes in the same exact spot. It is not the same car. The Motion car was the drag car in the early Motion pics and ended up in Conn. The car in the mags was featured in '76-'77 and was at some iSCA car shows where it won awards. |

While I agree that its very unlikely this car has any Motion ties, it WOULD be a pretty neat looking SS car when restored correctly... although you would definitely need to throw some serious cash at it to get it there.

Ive seen car in person, there ARE pinstripes and other things. I did not look for the holes in dash, for seller asked me to leave after i tried to buy it out of auction, so my time was limited. Like i put in a prior post that I deleted for i did not want 3XXXXX pms. "It must have been connected to motion a one point in time due to a few things that were not mentioned in auction and made me want to buy it" and am still trying like he had mentioned in the trunk were other parts with car and i seen that there where 2 rear quarter glassed that had painted on lettering that stated.... E/E M and other said F/ M.. what would this mean?...ALSO ss hood on car was originally gold not yellow. WHY would some one change from an ss hood to ss hood?? being car obviously has original paint and not ever wrecked this is probily not the DRAG CAR in question but whos to say its not a motion or a street racer??.. he converted small block to big block cars from simple engine swaps to phase III cars all for the money.. And also does any one have a vin number for the car in question??? In last words who knows whats what other than Uncle Joel.... good luck and any other info will help.. thanks again

I don't think the blue/yellow/red Motion decal was used in 67. Motion had other decals in 67

Because some one on this site offered him 40-50k through an email to end auction early. I offered him less and he informed me of the other offer.. but we have been talkin.

Without verification from Joel and/or other legit docs, it would be a hell of a big gamble to pay much for that car. Motion sold LOTS and LOTS of parts and decals through their catalog and extensive advertising in all of the East Coast magazines. You could buy a bunch of lottery tickets for $40K and would probably have better odds of coming out ahead. Nonetheless, it's worth investigating, but you need to ask yourself why has the owner not already done it??
