Fer sure on the 4 blades on early 69 Nova with a 375hp. A friend ran a blueprinted stocker in 69 while I still ran my 68 Z.

Fan sounded like it was comin' thru the radiator when he would wind it up at the starting line.

Tom, Allen is correct if it is for a 69 or 70 BB Nova, I THINK a clutched fan came on the 68 BB Nova cars. Chevy found out quickly that it wasn't cooling the high heat BB motor and switched to a no clutch 5 bladed piece for 69 and 70. The fan is unique to the Nova, it has 2 blades together and 3 spread apart and is 17" diameter. They are very rare, most were chucked early because they made a lot of noise. A dented up one sold on EBay immediately for $510.00 just recently. Call Wayne Bushey at NNN, he may have an extra, but get your wallet open. The only marks I have seen on the fans are either a "W" ot "TW" on the rear of a blade bracket, there are 2 different bolt pattern as well, the service replacement has 2 sets of bolt/mounting holes and an original assembly line fan has only one set of mounting holes, blades are the same on all. Good luck

Great info. on the Nova fans! I've kept one of the non-clutched 5 bladed ones lying around for quite awhile now.

It had always looked kinda special to me. It was on my '62 BubbleTop BelAir that had the '71 Vette LS5 engine in it.

You guys & this site are an unbeliveable wealth of information!!

Keep up the good work.

Is this the 5-blade fan you are talking about? Came on a '69 BB I am using in my Camaro. The numbers on the blades though are 24654 and 3462190 with k75 on it. It is a flex type fan, no clutch.

This is the correct 5 blade fan for a BB Nova. I believe the reason it's clutchless is, there just isn't enough room to fit a clutch. It's only a couple of inches between the water pump and the radiator. I've also never seen a part number on one. I stole your pic Greg hope you don't mind. m

Any ideas on what the fan I have is from? Can I assume that the numbers tell of a 1965 or 1975 date code?

Lowmile probably has a good assumption on the tight fit for the orig 69-70 BB fans, 68 had the short W/P and was able to fit a clutch

Thanks, looks like the same general shape and design as the one you guys are talking about, except for the rivets and that it is an aluminum flex type fan. Maybe would provide decent cooling? Thanks again to everyone.....what a great resource you all are!
