Default '68 442 on Overhaulin'

Did anyone watch Overhaulin' last night (Tues.) ?

They stole a great '68 Olds 442 and the guy was a mess the whole time it was missing.

When they brought the guy in he recognized Courtney Hansen, (who wouldn't!?)
..and he knew he'd been Overhauled.

What a fun show that is... if you're a gearhead or not.

I'm sorry I missed the 442 being overhauled, but I've seen the show several times and it's a show

I saw last nights episode. I really like that show & they do awesome work in such a short time.
The guy with the 442 got burned in that he didn't get a new engine like most of them do.
Still ended up with a cool car
Did you see the episode when they overhauled the '50 Ford & kept the Flathead. That owner was smart enough to get Chip Foose & the build team to sign the car. I'm sure that will add value if/when it's ever sold.

The 442 ended up looking very good, I especially liked the wheels they put on it. It's amazing to watch Chip sketch his ideas out and then turn them into a finished car.

And that Courtney...

I loved the chevelle they did. Picking a puke green base chevelle and then redoing it with the cool reverse flame/stripe job...............extra cool

That car's fiberglass was so dry it sucked up a ton of resin.
Another good one was the surfer kid from CA. with the Elky.
He's about 17 years old with a Chip Foose designed ride.
Talk about a babe magnet!

I read a post on the Overhaulin' boards @TLC and the guy's wife said he had a 455 Olds in it, so they didn't swap it out because he had a strong engine.

I like the way they painted the K&N air cleaner frame and valve covers with the exterior yellow. It dressed-up the engine compartment nicely.

There was a comment when it wouldn't start to the effect that they had just rebuilt it...

I thought they just cleaned it up. Remember they mentioned there was water in an intake port?

The wife sez this:
THE MOTOR IS 19-20 years old. It is a 455 big block Olds. It has less than 30K miles on it. It runs strong. If they blew the motor up, shouldnt we be the judge of that? It still fires up. They wanted to rebuild the original block but stealing the car from one place and ripping off the engine from another is a scene.

I don't know what she means by this, but that's her answer.
