Any pictures of what they look like? I don't need the exact code... just want it to look "right". This is my son's "driver".

The OE hub caps aren't real flattering. Here is a pic of them. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/pxtx/1965/65ss.jpg
Note the trim in front of the rear wheels. I beleive this is an early picture of an SS before they were actually released. My 65 is a Nov 64 car and does not have them, although I have not taken the paint away to check for holes. |

![]() ![]() I've had many combinations on the car and I keep falling back to this look. I like the black wheels whith chrome lugs and chrome dust caps. That pic was Easter Sunday 1992. My pop was backing the car out. After a winter of building the drivetrain I was going to take it out and learn how to drive it (I didn't know how to drive a manual trans). Don't recall how well I did learning, but I do remember asking my pop to flat-shift all the gears throughout the ride to and from the old high school, where I was practicing. ![]() |

I agree Belair! My pop told me that the guys (including him) in his neighborhood in Chi-town went with that look because they had no dough!

I don't have picture of the steel wheel it self but if you don't care about codes them just get a set of steel 14x6 wheels put on tires of choice and add the correct hub caps like the ones shown above.
I believe we have a set of those original style hub caps. May need a little restoring but are complete. I can look if you are interested in them. Rick H. |

-------Maybe even go to a set of 14/7s. And, if you dont like the factory SS wheels maybe factory wire caps would be cool? ............Bill S

Honestly, I don't know... they are 14" and the backsides go "straight in" with no dips or intrusions that would cause any clearance problems around the inner circumference, but there may be an issue with clearing the backsides of the spokes themselves... these are the "straight spoke" style, not the curved "D" spokes. Anyone here ever run straight spoke wheels on a 67? Looking at them, they look like they would work, but I'm not positive... might need to run a thin spacer if clearance is tight. -JB
