I have helped a friend save quite a bit of cash locating cars and parts over the years. He is a good friend and his word is good. We have a future gentleman's agreement in place and I have no doubt that his word is gold. If I was brokering Up front for a cut of the pie with an unknown client I would get a deposit with the understanding that win or loose (if the cars were all located) the deposit was forfit for my time, - and get it in writing.

There are too many "baddies" out there today - unless you know who you are dealing with you gotta watch. (Just my 2cents)

I'm trying to 'imagine the scenario' there Moby, but what exactly are you trying to say? If the 'scenario' is true, isn't it just another day in the life of a high powered musclecar broker? I would also think that with your connections with the IRS, the FBI, the CIA and the local Harley club that you would have prosecuted this guy already - what's taking so long

Steve,
It was certainly not you being referred to here, first of all you have the financial ability to put together the ultimate collection, you are also not one of the new kids on the block, and above all else you actually OWN a Lear Jet! I do have some serious cars that I had located for this fella, if interested give me a call or send an Email.

Marlin,
IRS? FBI? CIA? I would think you might consider having your shrink increase your daily dose of Prozac. Looks like owning your Taiwan based Nova has finally caused you to snap!

You must be forgetting your first call to me where you tried to impress me with your occupation; 'IRS Tax Avoidance Division', or something like that. Remember my reply? 'So, a half million other people work for the IRS as well'

So, what will you do with this guy who causes you to write with such angst?

Marlin,
That explains your intrepretation of our conversation. I did say I made a career of IRS tax avoidance, being an accountant you should know that "Doesnt everybody?"

Hey Matt: Do me a favor and tell everyone that it's NOT me that you're referring to when you mention your new "friend" that collared you, then walked you like a puppy dawg. Several folks know I have a LearJet and my mailbox is full from emails wondering if you were talking about me. I told 'em it wasn't me, cause I'd never chop/channel mine ...although I'd be happy to give you a list of 10 cars to shop for me...LOL

Steve, if you read Motown's post, you'll see he referred to a "spoiled rotten rich kid".

So he couldn't be referring to you. You're not a kid.
