Mark, That is excellent that you found the original owner
. You just can't put a price on that. It would be great if he fowards some vintage pictures of the car to you. On a similiar note. About ten years ago, I called on an ad for a "1970 Chevrolet" for sale. It ended up being a Monte Carlo, not the Yenko Nova that I was dreaming of! But, I was speaking to the original owner, who was a 72 year old women. Which I thought was really cool. I ended up looking at the car and purchasing it. Tears rolled down her face when I drove away from her house and I felt terrible . I returned to her house, about six months later, with the car restored. She enjoyed seeing her car again and thanked me for the visit.Nick... |

Thanks guys
Yeah, I was pretty excited about speaking with him. There have been 5 owners prior to me (I thought there was 6 until today ) and I have spoken to 3 of them now. The 4th owner has a body shop in town and he has been very helpful in documenting the car. I called him today to see if he could help me locate some of the remaining guys. I mentioned who I was still looking for (John and Steve let's say) and he said, "Oh, John just drove by my house a few hours ago pulling a trailer with some mattresses or something on it and Steve works with a buddy of mine". Talk about small town luck! He has promised to get their numbers for me the next time he sees them.Researching these car is half the fun for sure and I just love it when a previous owner starts telling stories about his time with the car and you can hear the smile on his face ![]() Wish me luck with the two remaining owners!
