Now any more opinions on the trans.
In Aust there is a 1966 L-72 (was a CE engine when I came across it) convertible, which has a mix of Caprice and SS options, storey was that it was a Calif Dealers personal car and strings were pulled to get it. Bought in by one of INXS band members No paperwork as the previous owner had lost it but people swore the paperwork had been sighted. In Aust the value of the car whether L-72 or L-36 would be the same, as the amount of people in "the know " is very few. The thing that threw me was it was a TH400. Apart from those COPO Novas were there any other factory autos prior to 1969 on solid lifter big blocks. |

Apart from those COPO Novas were there any other factory autos prior to 1969 on solid lifter big blocks. [/ QUOTE ] I'm guessing "no", as the '68 L78/TH400 Novas were considered a special deal because of the first mix of a solid lifter BBC and an auto. I would bet against any solid lifter BBC autos prior to '69 ('68 Novas being the exception). Ray Morrison, where ya at buddy... |

I know there were a few Canadian built '66 SS427 L72 Impalas. A friend in Canada owns one of the few documented Canadian '66 L72 SS 427 Impalas built. Its a convertable 4 speed car!

Kinda forgot I posted this . . .
![]() I gotta ask my friend again. I don't know if he has pics. The irony of it all is that he wrote a Chevy book years ago, but he's gone on to greener pastures and doesn't keep up with Chevys from this era anymore. |
