trans numbers on pass side near top of case. there should be a number starting with P.... P=muncie then prod date. The vin stamp will be there also, a little hard to see. Should start 19..... letter code following the 9 is the assembly plant then last 6 of vin. there are also casting part #'s on the diff sections of the actual trans.hope this helps. for photos and more info go to Colvins boo chevy by the numbers.

You can see them but you may have to jack up the car, have some degreaser and a rag and a good light. If your eyes are going like mine some magnifying specs may help.

Here's the axle # location. http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#RearAxleNumbers Can be hard to find, but once you find one digit, the rest are easy.
