It was Cranberry Red. I don't remember tranny, but I bet it was a stick. I took a pic of it but it did not come out. Owner's father was quite elderly and was bragging how much the cars were going for. Of course, I tried to reason him to no avail.
"What hp?" "A lot." "The 454 has a lot. This is a 396." "The boy's uncle told me it had the biggest hp." (In my mind,) "Grrrr . . . " ![]() |

C'mon guys! If you want the car bad enough, you should be emailing ME, not vice versa!
![]() Anyway, what I recall from 1996, I got off the Bentleyville exit of the Turnpike, then probably made a right. Not far from there was a service garage on the left. It was attached to a house. A very old man owned it. His son's car, of which he was the original owner (and lived in W. Virginia), was out back in the house's garage. A few hundred yards further on the street, for a frame of reference, was a strip mall on the right. If anyone follows up on this, I'd appreciate an update on the car just for curiosity's sake. Happy hunting! |

What's more to tell? There was a lot more crap on the car this time. I now know the tach would have helped determine what 396 it had, but with the things blocking the doors . . . but it's an original red no stripe car.
It's been 9 years. Old man is now 82. They didn't remember me. His wife still was standoff-ish too. ![]() |
