I got a feeling it will be on the road right next to that Triple Red 57 Convt that will sport the 8 Banks turbos also. Must be nice to have to figure out which car to drive on the Tour!!! Maybe every other day might work

LV, on another website the question has been raised on whether its a reskinned GTO or a ground-up build up. Can you tease us with some basic info?

Jeff;
It's actually a combination of existing metalwork and new carbon fiber skins [predominantly new skins and body lines]. A magnet won't stick to most of the body, when finished. Someone earlier mentioned a "sawsall", and that's pretty close to the truth of how we treated the original body. The body will have subtle resemblance to the '70 Chevelle SS. Things like the cowl hood [operational], tail lights, headlights, grill, badging and even repro Ralley SS wheels will be a part of the exterior look. The interior will remain pretty much factory, except for custom badging, shifter and instrument cluster changes. Here's a teaser shot of one of the quarters [attachment]...

The car will debut on the HotRod Power Tour, June 5th. About the only resemblance that rendering has to the real car is the color. We hope to be road testing by mid-May, in preparation for the Tour. I understand that PriMedia got more than 40,000 emails from readers requesting the build, so time will tell if they'll sell the 40 units that the contract outlines. Serial #1 will get the all aluminum 454/625 engine [reflections of the '70 LS6 Chevelle] from Robert's Racing Engines, but the car will be offered with the factory LS1 as well. Price is yet to be determined, but I can assure you that Serial #1 has become quite a money pit. Carbon Fiber fenders and bodywork, some suspension/drivetrain mods and the 454/625 will make it rock!
