My brother spent some time chasing Kenny down in some of his other cars......mostly on dirt around Iowa for many years. Funny how alot of the Yenko Camaros seem to have drifted in and out of the late model driver's paths. Much like the engine Anders now has in his car...I think that spent some time in a late model campaigned out of Waterloo by Kastli. That is how Dralle got the motor, VERY SMALL WORLD! Now if I could find one of your car's brothers out of Friedley...............

Racefan !
The ZL-1 engineblock, that my friend Dick bought from Red Dralle, is not in my car. I´ve got the original all iron MO engine for my 9561. ![]() ![]() Anders

Sorry about that, it really is funny though how I sitting in my living room in Iowa can carry on a conversation with a person around the world from me about parts that.......
never mind. It really IS a small world though! Is the ZL1 block gathering dust or does he have it in something?

Dick sold the block in the late eighties,to someone who put it in a -68 Corvette and claimed that it was a ZL-1 Corvette.
![]() Have we heard that one before ? I´ve been trying to keep track of it, but I´m guesstimating that there are about ten GM ZL-1 blocks in Sweden so I don´t know who has it now. Anders ![]()

This a pic taken 1986 in Ed Slagers garage in Cedar Rapids of the ZL-1 block that my friend Dick Stagmo bought from Red Dralle in Waterloo,Iowa. I hoped to find my notes of the numbers on the block, but no I didn´t find them.

Are you sure you don't mean Ed Sanger's garage? Or, as he was known in the Iowa dirt tracks....Fast Eddie? Was that ZL1 block one of the 69 or an over the counter?

No Phil, his name was Slager. He worked as a butcher.
The way I remember it the block was decked but had a partial VIN. I know I made a note of every stamp and number on that block, but I can´t find it today. ![]()

Ed helped us finding an apartment and let us use his garage to gather the original hiperf stuff we bought. But he wasn´t really interested in it, that´s how I remember it.
Ed, Becky and their son Aaron lived on 1819 Washington Ave SE. I´d be glad to get in touch with them again. That´s their black car in the background. A Monte Carlo Aero coupe ? Don´t remember more than that Ed talked about the rearwindow and Nascar. Was it special ?
