The "army" green paint used on Corvettes was bought from the United States Army after the war ended. Chevy bought hundred of thousands of gallons. I am sure VettefinderJim and other corvette guys will chime in. -Dan

-------That engine stamp is kinda interesting. Anyone notice the two different Hs? One wide and one a bit narrower. Obviously not making any statements about authenticity. It is just cool to see the use of the two slightly different Hs. Some over-anal NCRS judge would have a hissey, but the guys who know would go "WOW, thats a bit different". You can just never say you have seen it all with GM. They even keep throwing curves at you 37 years later! -------Thanks again for the picture show, Charlie. That is one original ol Vette you got there. Have also never seen that front cross-member green stripe before. Got to think about that for awhile.............Bill S |

Pulled the gas tank out of the green 63 today that has been stinkin up the shop since it got here. Sending unit needs a little work.
