Default 03E car, TO408HB engine, w/POP #'s matching??

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2467485161

Is it possible fo the engine to be assembled after the car? Seller claims the POP states this. Any thoughts? or anybody have a car like this? I have a 69 z28 built 03E with a BU0403 rear end that i believe to be factory, maybe it is possible?

I think it is possible, since your cars build date is 03E, that might mean that your Z was built at the end of the first week of April, maybe April the 7th, and your rearend was assembled on April the 3rd.

Yes, I believe that engine date is fine. Unusual yes, but I know of one other 03E car with a similar engine date. Having what appears to be the original block also helps confirm it.
Did you notice the car was backhalved?

69ss396,
I'd have to see more data on your car, but as Mike's car shows, that axle date doesn't seem out of line.

One caveat to these exceptions - they don't happen every month. It might not be fine in an end of April car, for example.
