Shor, I think that car is going to be part of the "big car/big block shootout", up against that Marks guy with his '68 'Cayne.

Rick. Did I hear that Chad is buying the beer on Thursday evening?
Steve, I will check but he's a little crabby as it looks like his sYc Chevelle may not get done in time due to some parts that have not been delivered yet. Maybe if we get him looped it won't hurt as much.

Now, to banquet seating. You wouldn't mind eating in your car would you?
I don't think my dinner companion would appreciate that. Then again............

There is going to be a 69 lemans blue 427 biscayne that is going to be the official white castle getter!
Shor! Quit teasing!!!! Is that true?

There ain't enough room inside a Deuce when that kid sits down to feed
...........what more can I possibly add to that!
sorry Frank.

[ QUOTE ]
The 68 Hemi Barracuda did an 9.87 @ 142 a couple of weeks ago. Not to bad after being stored since 1968. It should be tuned a bit better by the re-union. As the ZL-1's have had much more practice they should give the "OLD" hemi a second or two at the lights.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow! You're telling me a 68 Hemi Cuda that was stored for 30+ years and has less than 30 original miles on it ran a sub 10 second 1/4 mile at over 140 mph a few weeks ago? What has been done to this car, cause i don't know of too many stock Hemi cars running 9's with weekly tuning, let alone after 30+ years of sitting.

Joe, the way I understand it, this not a stock Hemi Cuda, but one of the factory built race cars, sold to the public in limited numbers. Big time Hemi power in a light weight package, AKA Sox and Martin.

Tom is correct. This is a limited production Hurst Hemi Barracuda aimed at SS/A or SS/AA. It is a lightweight, fiberglass front fenders, hood, acid dipped doors and bumpers, gutted interior, Race Hemi, Dana, etc. FROM THE FACTORY! When I picked it up at Hurst none of the fiberglass parts were even painted. This is a twin to the Sox & Martin Barracuda or if you will the Hemi Darts (Dick Landy etc. ) of the same age.

In its day with old technology and old tires etc, they consistently turned low 10's. When we redid it I had the valve train, cam, ignition and a few other items updated. I also used 2004 rubber for tires (big difference). The curent versions of this car in competition today run in the 8's. I was very happy with the high 9's but am way off the pace of current stuff.

Still would be fun to run a ZL-1.
