I'm glad to hear that, cause the only one we have left is a funny blue that I'm not to fond of. We aren't suppose to get anymore for several weeks. The size and motor are sweet, I even like some of the interior. But outer styling needs some work. If I by chance pick you out of the cars on 169, I'll give a wave.

Ed,

That red is SOOO much nicer than the yellow one I sent you. Best of luck with your new muscle car.

Thanks for the nice words guys.. Near as I can tell from the information I have... I've got the first and only Torrid Red/black 6 speed car in this area.. I found this car and where it was going from the Pontiac website and went to the dealer THAT day and bought it sight unseen.. It pays to know exactly what you want.. I've been having a little trouble in that area in the "old" car department.. (right Larry?) But as far as a daily driver to replace the Jeep.. There was NO question.. I will be handing this one down to my Daughter years from now.. She turns 1 next month.. That'll give me plenty of time to play with it. Something else was gained in getting this car too.. I figured out what "Old" piece of metal I want to fix up. Gonna need something to haul junk around in and drive in the occasional crappy Oklahoma weather, so I'm on the lookout for a 60-66 Chevy Pickup in the $1500-less range..

-----So Ed,now you need to send that puppy down Matts way and talk him into over-testasteroning it. Maybe to Ligenfelters to keep the memory alive. Somewhere around 475HP should do it just about right!!!!!!!!.........Bill S

Just a thought on modifying the new GTO. Why do "unmolested" and "survivor" cars get the most $$$ attention nowadays? Because 99.999% of our favorite 1960s musclecars were modified by their owner(s) and "molested" constantly over the years. Nowadays an unmodified, unrestored stocker seems to be the hot find. Why do we call an unmodified stocker a "virgin" car? Because it hasn't been f____d to death by numerous owners. Think about it. Who wouldn't want a beautiful virgin '65 GTO today? Or a beautiful, untouched, virgin '69 ZL-1? Yeah, you can perform face-lifts and tummy tucks to your heavily-abused '69 COPO and have a valuable asset but the virgin stocker will always command more attention and $$$. Oh, and I've modified a few cars in my time, as we all have, but the virgin stocker has a past that doesn't nag at your conscience.

427TJ,

------No disrespect here but there will be plenty of stock GTOs around for those that just want to look at something with 4 wheels that has never been touched. I think the bigger crime would be to have had a car for ten or more years wanting to throw some more power at it and not doing so because you are scared it might somehow be worth less after you are dead and gone.JMHO!..........Bill S

Yeah, I agree with your point too. Yet just like sixties GTOs, the new ones will be common (sort of) for years to come but someday they just might be the "hot" collector car. Then everybody will be climbing over each other to buy the stock, unmolested cars. It would be hard not to tinker with a '04 GTO though, especially with the aftermarket stuff that will be available. Maybe buy two? One to put in the garage and one to thrash. Yeah, that's it.
