Of course it is clan mentality. Most boards are set to serve the needs of a certain group of individuals, ones with a common interest. Whether it be Chevy supercars, LS-6 Chevelles, Corvettes, Cobras, Shelbys, Pontiacs, whatever. In the same fashion as many of the nation's car shows and even magazines, that are make or model specific. Is this a bad thing? I do not think so, as no one is forced to join a certain group, or read a certain magazine and, the best part, by living in the US of A, anyone can host their own show/board, setting their own rules and agenda, and even limiting who can participate if they so desire.
