I've been looking for one also and have come across 3 unrestored '67 Coupes in the last month. One is a 3-star bow tie yellow, side pipe 400 hp tripower - top flight also for $78K, there's a yellow unrestored '67 BB on ebay now that I think will sell for $75K, a friend has a one owner '67 435 coupe - all there and running but needs restored $60K. A 435 hp is wroth more that a 400 hp is the car unmolested is there any paper work If there is one thing I have learned about corvettes is to keep them as near as the factory sent them out There is a guy in our cub that has a 64 vette 369/425 hp when he bought the car it was all changed around it had fender flairs headers out of the side as he started to restore it he found it it had an M-22 rock crusher in it that was not available in 64 but it did have the vin number on it so he put it back in the car was all so radio & heated delete Paul restored the car as it was as it left the factory He started to do research on the car and found out that the original owner was Peter Fonda Paul Called one of peter s
Publics and told him that he has a car that might have belonged to Peter Fonda was trying to find some information about this car and left him has phone number Paul went on a two week vacation and when he got back there was eight voice mails from Peter Fonda stating that he had to talk to Paul about this car because as peter put it I do not think that you know what this car is Paul called him back and they were on the phone for hours It seem that peter Fonda contacted Zora Duntov to build him a car for road racing
Zora Duntov told peter that he had a few heavily duty parts that were not standard as of 64 and the M-22 was one of the things The car was build as Duntov put it in the back barn only 12 corvettes in 64 had the M-22 transmission Kevin super cars has one Peter Fonda gave Paul all copy s of the letters from Zora Duntov all the pictures of races that he had won with the car Because of all the paper work and the history about this car has a blooming gold appraisal at two million dollars so do your home work you never know what you might find

The 1967 yellow 400 horse coupe on e-bay is owned by a friend and a very original, high optioned car. He and I purchased similar Benchmark 67's from a fellow in Fort Worth about two months ago. We had it planned to pick up the cars at the same time and he drove in from Houston and I drove in from Austin. He hauled in one of the nicest 1964 fuelie Corvettes you have ever seen and we hauled that one back to Austin, also. It is a red/red radio delete, original KO wheel car with big brakes, transistor ignition, special high performance tires, two tops, Top Flight and three star Bow Tie car with the original window sticker. His cars are all nice. The yellow car has not been worked over at all.
The 1967 big blocks are bringing strong dollars, documentation is important as is the original engine. Post more information about the car you are looking at.

Norm, you are correct with exception of the year, they are 65 396/425 HP Vettes. I tried buying that car from Paul Sedaca before I found mine. The owner I bought my M22 Tanker Vette from, found it to be an M22 prior to Peter Fonda-Paul's Vette. My 65 M22 Vette was the one that solved the puzzle for 65 M22 Vettes. I have all the original paperwork etc, on my Vette. The original order invoice states "Competition Race Order-RUSH", as it raced in the Canadian Grand Prix. It was delivered to Gorries Chevrolet in Canada, which also produced the Black Panther Camaros.

Although Paul knew his was a Vette owned and raced by Peter Fonda I believe it was the ex-owner of my Vette, that informed Paul that his was also an M22, prompting Paul to contact Peter Fonda. You can read about mine in Al Colvin's "Chevrolet by the Numbers" reference book. All the 65 M22 Vettes had cases with the casting numbers milled off, and were all stamped P0415 (April 15, 1965)assembly date. Before my car came to light, NCRS had the position that absolutely no 65's had M22's. Another example of "never say never".

Kevin Your right I don’t know why I was thinking 64 instead of 65
I did not personally see the paper work that Peter Fonda gave Paul just what I was told
I know some stories get bigger each time its told I did see the Blooming appraisal still a real neat car Yours must be worth as much or more being the first one
What ever happened to Al Colvin and his Camaro radio show I miss that there was a lot to learn form Al

Note the Sunoco 260 decal on the back window I was told the that peter put it on the car form his racing days it is still on the car today

I visited Corvette Mike's place in 1991. I had just looked and made an offer on a 1966 L72 Corvette in the LA area and figured that I would see what he had in stock at his shop. The Peter Fonda car was there, flares and all, for sale at $40,000. It just did not strike me how rare that car was at the time and I passed.
