[ QUOTE ]
I just had a conversation with Tim, the owner of the Car. He seems like a decent guy and really does want to figure out exactly what he has. He is in Wisconsin and the car and paperwork are in Florida. He had gone back there and took the protecto plate pic but didn't realize it was too small to read. Until he can get back there he can't provide any paperwork. It might be a Month from now. He doesn't know much about COPO's so the things that ring wrong to us don't mean a thing to him. It might be a Dana car or it might be something made up but if somebody was making a fake car I don't think they would build it like they did. He will let me know when he gets to the paperwork so in the mean time can we cut him some slack please. He does want to sell the car but I told him the only way to get any Supercar type money out of it is to provide the paperwork. I am not trying to beat anybody to the car. If someone wants to offer him Money for the car they might consider it contingent on the paperwork. It would be neat if it was real. ![]() [/ QUOTE ] again thanks charly ![]() ![]() ![]() |

So is the car still for sale on Ebay or are you going to wait until you can check the documentation again? I would think that you would stop the auction until you can have someone knowledgable check the documentation. If you let the auction go, somebody will have the legal right to the car at the price it ends at.

I think Kurts statment was in regards to it being a 427 Copo. That doesn't mean it can't be a Dana converted car.

Charley I agree with you that the car most likely is a dana car just not a copo 427 but who knows

I don't even have a real feel for what it is but from my conversation with Dana-Man I don't think he has made this stuff up to try and scam anybody. That does not mean that the paperwork he was given with the car is real. We just gotta wait and see.....But then again I tend to trust most of you Jerks out there and look where that gets me... wearing a Monkey Face in a POS Belair..

Belair I think he is talking about that awseome car with the Ronald McDonald twins in the car after eating a gut burger. I'm not sure so maybe you should repost the picture to find out.

In my opinion this site can only help you, not hurt you. I'm pretty sure you bought the car at FAR below SUPERCAR prices. Assuming that, if the car is not real then you have a neat car that is probably fun and worth what you paid and you gained valueable knowledge about these cars, no money lost. Assuming on the other hand, this site and the many great people here help you document a car that is far more valueable than you anticipated then everybody wins - you have a valueable car, the buyer gets a valueable car, the car community gets another great car, the restorers get business from restoring the car, and it is one more great car that someone will own and share. That is what it's about. Alot of the SUPERCARS change hands from time to time. So multiple people get joy over owning the same car. I honestly hope it turns out to be what you say the car is.
