Hi Pete, you are correct on the regret of selling it.

I have had a few cars since. None of my GTO's match up to the Orbit Orange color. Looks great night or day. Almost glows at night especially with the orange in the stripes glowing. I am sure it will pass thru my hands again SOON!

Steve,
Pete's Judge is my favorite Judge, but it came to be because of YOUR Judge on Stratham's cover!

What do you guys think of painting a '72 with Orbit "O" with the judge stripes (but deleting the Judge insignias, of course)?
The Judge in "Two Lane Blacktop" was Orbit Orange but had the "GTO" decals because it was not a Judge.
(I know this because I lost a bet on it!)

I just can't find a color I like for '72 besides Cardinal red. Do you think it would depreciate the Goat if I used Orbit? Do you think it would add value if I used a '72 color like Cardinal Red?

Congrats to you guys who have or have owned Orbit-O Judges-- the nicest-looking car EVER produced... IMHO.

GOAT72,
Thanks!
That was a great day when the author Steve called me and told me my Judge was going to be on the cover. I was shocked.
Paint your car any color you want. Cardinal Red is a stunning color also. Can't go wrong with Orbit Orange.
Orbit Orange was never used on ANY other GM, Ford or Mopar. It was only applied to 1970 GTO's. There is a color Chevy uses now for fleet vehicles and work trucks called ??? It looks very close to Orbit Orange.

"06" is the code for Orbit Orange on the data plate.
In the books it is "60" for some reason?
Can you get a pic of the Z in Orbit Orange? I would be interested in seeing that. I don't remember any special order colors in those years. Would be cool to see.

I found an Orbit Orange '71 on the Net at Ultimate GTO.
Here's the URL:

Here's another one.. or maybe it's the same car.

This gives me a good idea what my '72 would look like, and since the color is so awesome, I think I'm gonna do it.

Mine was originally "Sundance Orange" -- a much darker, kinda burnt orange color.

What's wrong with that color? It's new for '72, which makes it unique because there aren't '71s in that color.
