Was that the B/J auction that had that "Great" Live cable hook up last year?..Don't forget that knowledgeable commentary too.

I remember hearing the crowd actually Booed Reggie J. last January, because he wanted more then market value of his car.Possibly because of his name?

I was next to Mr. Jackson on the ZL-1 No sale. This was the original engine documented car. (Reggie's term is "all the toilet paper") The original block was not in the car at the time of sale, however he told bidders that he had located it and had it. Mark Hassett and I spoke to him about the car at the Gala and he had asked me where I estimated the bidding would go on the car? I replied about 300. As I recall the bidding ended up around 290?? Anyway, He was looking for a little over 300. Not really bad if you figure that you are getting a documented "Reggie car" with a spare ZL-1 block.

He will thin the collection from year year but it is clear he does not need the money....

Me either. From what I understand, his cars are often rough around the edges.

Celebrity ownership of cars shouldn't logically help the value too much if it's a top end car. Do Jay Leno, Tim Allen, Charlie Sheen and Nicolas Cage get premiums for their cars?

Reggie uses the term "Toilet paper". As for the overall value of the celeb cars- people do generally pay more. The final price of the Don Johnson Hemi Cuda clone (318) is an example, However the car has got to be good. Don had a truck that came across the block soon after that did not bring much at all. It had Alain Ducadnet wheezing! Real Smoker......

Ok Guys step up... Who is going to be there? It Is a hell of a trip and lots of fun, Perhaps you can ask Reggie yourself....

Phil

I don't necessarily disagree, but wasn't what drove the price of the Cuda clone the fact that it had been used in the Nash Bridges TV show? Same thing with the fake GT500 Eleanor from the remake of Gone in 60 Seconds?

[/ QUOTE ]Actually, in a word, yes. A '69 Chevelle SS 396 sold at auction locally, formerly owned by Nicolas Cage, with the paperwork to back it up. It was an original Fathom Green car painted black, with black limo tint windows...seems to be a Nick Cage signature as I've seen his '65 Corvette Coupe with the same treatment. The car did close to 30 grand and wasn't at all anything particularly exciting to look it. Chromed out underhood, aftermarket wheels, radials, trim shop guts, your typical "street machine" Chevelle with NOM. I'd say $10,000 or more was spent on Nick Cage's name. Doesn't make particular sense to me either, but then again there's people who look at screen actors like we look at Don Yenko.
