Just an opinion here, but, if #2 looses it's conference championship game to a conference division champ AND #3 wins it's conference championship, shouldn't #2 become #3 and likewise #3 become #2 thus putting #1 & #2 in the national championship game?
I swear, anybody can understand that math. I am not an LSU fan at all, but you would have to be Anne Frank to not know that the two best teams in the nation are USC & LSU. I would think that somebodies math solved the equation that OK is closer to NO than LA thus OK$ x10 is a good thing.

Simply go to playoff system, like in all other NCAA sanctioned sports, utilizing the exisitng bowls. Take the the top 4, maybe even the top 8 teams. Would make all of the bowls mean something, and worth watching. And, then, we would have a true national champion, decided on the field, not with polls and computers.
