Being the owner of several supercars, my personal opinion is I'll do with them as I see fit. Like the owner in WI with the Yenko rotting in his yard, I don't agree with him, however, I do respect his right to make his own decisions of what to do with his property. I can probably agree with what COPO said. I'm sure people think we're just as crazy at that guy in WI when they hear of us racing our cars regularly. But, that's our prerogative.

Funny story...I had some friends over for Thanksgiving and we were watching a tape from our last trip to Memphis this past fall. As I was staging, the microphone caught some guys in the background talking about how if they had that car [our Camaro] they wouldn't be racing it, but have it locked up or something. No sooner had they got that out of there mouths when I went through the traps and the "[email protected]" flashed up on the clocks. The mic then caught a whole monologue of expletives as they talk about how fast that "yellow car" was! Hearing that right there made it worth rolling in at 6am...

It's your car to do what you please with it. I'm not restoring my JL8 back to 100% stock original because I find it a little boring. I'm adding the crossram, fiberglass crossram hood, Stahl roadrace headers, Minilite wheels, heater delete, radio delete, transistor ignition. I'm doing this because I want people to see what you could have bought in 1969 and gone out road racing with. These mods are easy to put back to stock so it's not too big of a deal. That Yenko on Ebay will take a lot of time, money and parts to be put back to stock. The buyer bought the car because he wanted something to go racing with so I don't see why he would want to put it back to stock right now.

ps - Sammy, where are you at on LBI and where do you keep your car? My 69 Z28 JL8 car is also Hugger Orange with white stripes

Hey Jeff,
I moved off the Island to West Creek on the mainland a while ago,Built an 80 foot 2 story garage just for the car I still have a building on the causeway in ship bottom where I run my company out of. Are you the same jeff I talked to about the ZL-1 motor from the chevy dealership?

No, I don't think that was me. But my memory is pretty shaky anymore, so who knows. My brother and I still go down to Beach Haven for vacation every year. If I didn't have this JL8 car, I would probably have a beach house down there.

by a stroke of luck without paying lots of $$$ for it when i got my zl1. i didn't put it all back original (headers, traction bars, tach,) i pretty much left it the way i got it i did paint it back to the original color and it does look good with the orignal wheels and caps but i do have mags for it and it can be put back to its original self i don't race it unless someone pulls up next to me wanting to its hard to not punch it out and what a ride too maybe someday i'll sell it if my son is not intersted in it but till then Im gonna drive and show it i've heard guys in the back ground saying i wouldn't rev that car up like that and i say whats the fun in it if i wanted art i'd paint a picture and hang it on the wall

You would have to sell 3 or 4 ZL-1's to get a beach house on this Island right now...wow the prices have skyrocketed worse than a Yenko....Good for me though, Im selling some property I have here and it will give me the green backs to buy a couple Yenko's to tow around the ZL-1's I can now afford
