Bill: I'd say $40K minimum and more than likely $50K to restore it.

Mark:
My guess would have been in the same area $45-50000. And that's with me doing disassembly and reassembly and paying someone to do body, paint, machine and other specialized services. The scary thing is I am usually way low on my estimates. |

Knowing the cost to restore it properly, that would probably put the value of the car as it sits around $15-25K IMO. The RS adds value along with a good color.

Jeff, Do you really think that car in that condition is worth 15-25 thousand? I know the car is rare and desirable but I was thinking (not seeing it) around 10-15 thousand. Even if Frank Arone and Brian Henderson do that car I would be surprised if you could get $50.000 for it.I am sure you will have that into it if it is done right. I feel the 67 Z is well underated but the 69's with millions of them out there is still the first choice by most. I really like the interiors of the 1967 camaros and the location of their gauges. He just has to look at it as a long term investment and really just do it for himself. I would use all original sheetmetal, (I did my 1969 Z with original west coast sheetmetal and it looks very good). I am not really crazy about NOS unless it is from vey early 70's. Original virgin sheetmetal really does fit better. Just my opinion. Sam

I would agree for the most part with Jeff at 15-20K. The 67 Z is starting to come into the scheme of things in this hobby as I see more people looking for them. On the high end at the moment I am representing a high quality example at 100K.

That is good to hear. I like to see the Z/28's get some respect. sam

Wow, I didn't realize that a 67 Z in that kind of condition was worth so much (15-20k).
Where does a 68 fall in? I looked at a 68 Z a few nights ago. 373 12 bolt, has original trans, no engine, RS, deluxe black interior, and PDB-of course! 6k redline tach. solid body originally white. what's it worth?

The Yenko's and COPO's have brought up the price and value of all the "next in line" high performance cars since they are out of reach for most people. The L89 and L78's are climbing fast and the 67 Z28 is right there with low production numbers like the 1970 L78.
