What month in 1970 did GM start casting the second design LS5-L34 low-pro Q-jet intakes. I have a 3955287 (2) under the casting number and numbered intake runners (like 1971) and later. My casting date is E-1-70. May 70 castings would certainly still be used in 70 production, wouldn't they? Anybody know of an April 70 casting that is the first design without the numbered ports? MR70 can you answer this question?

On my last 70 the build dates on most of the suspension parts were 2 to three months prior to the body tag. Based on only that it may push you into 71 production. hope that helps.

True Jay, but I have seen Jan 01C built 70 Chevelles with castings only one to two weeks before the build date.My (06A) Fist week June 70 has chassis components dated Late May 70.It may also depend on the distance from the casting plant to the assembly plant. Tonawanda to Baltimore plant was one day trucking I would assume.
